Our packages are assembled by hand, usually within 24 to 72 hours. Please note that orders placed on Fridays after 1 P.M. PT will be processed the following Monday. The shipping transit times listed at checkout do not include assembly/processing time.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your products and will accept any full-sized product for a return (no exchanges), as long as it is at least half full and received within 90 days of initial purchase.

Kits, sets, bundles or duos are only eligible for returns if all of the pieces of the kit, set, bundle or duo are included in the return. Returns received that have not been discussed with our Customer Experience Team that are not in compliance with our Return Policies will not be accepted. If outside the 90 day return timeframe, products will be returned to the sender at their expense or donated.

Our fulfillment system is set up to process quickly so that our customers get their products ASAP. Because of this, editing an already placed order isn’t possible at this time. If you’d like to cancel your order, please send our Customer Experience Team a message immediately —email contact@furtunaskin.com — and we’ll do our best to either cancel the order or, if it’s too late to cancel, help you get a refund on any product you don’t want to keep.

We adhere to an uncompromising set of sourcing criteria that parallels the standards of our own organic Sicilian La Furtuna Farm. In our quest for the finest, we seek lands and ingredients that are irrigated by natural streams. Soils must be untouched for at least 100 years, and the ecosystem must be virtually unaltered. The land must be 100% free of pesticides, surrounded by an approved buffer zone to protect against pesticide drift. The producers and growers must be artisans with a multigenerational heritage who are skilled in reviving old-world methods.

Yes. We source in a sustainable way that respects the natural ecosystem and protects biodiversity. We take only what we need — just enough so plants can continue to flourish. We never use endangered species or deplete natural resources. We never damage the environment or leave a trace.

Most of our ingredients are organic as we source the majority of them from our certified organic farm in Sicily. This is quite unusual as wild-foraged ingredients don’t always have the added status of certified organic. Our ingredients have been grown with no pesticides used within 100 miles and on land that hasn’t been cultivated in over 100 years. Our oil-based products are 100% organic. We strive to go beyond organic with many ingredients of even more potent quality because they are wild-foraged plants. Some ingredients cannot be categorized as organic only because they’re not agricultural, including water and minerals like those found in volcanic ash.

We source wildly potent ingredients from all over the world according to a strict selection protocol. Currently, a large majority of ingredients come from La Furtuna Farm, which is part of our origin story and source of inspiration.

Our La Furtuna Farm is a certified organic farm in Sicily. It holds a biodiversity of plants, with more than 12,000 olive trees (some of which are from 600 to 1,500 years old), 500 unique plants, 50 medicinal wild herbs, and archeological remains from 2000 B.C. The extensive unspoiled landscape offers different elevations and microclimates to allow different plants to thrive. Pure mineral spring waters nourish the plants with a reservoir of nutrients. The soils are enriched with clay, limestone, and sandstone, imbuing the plants and trees with a unique mineral complexity. The plants here are exceptionally potent and pure because the land has been undeveloped for more than 400 years and the air is clean and pollution free. Pasquale “Mimmo” Marino, our chief botanist and ecologist, revitalizes endangered plant species near extinction.

Wild-foraged botanicals grow in the wild, and we forage them in their own natural habitat. Without any human intervention, these plants have to fend for themselves against environmental stressors, which forces them to become stronger and more resilient. They develop extra-potent nutrients to defend themselves. Through our innovative methods, we are able to pass those benefits onto skin.

Extremophyte™ plants are “survivalist” botanicals that overcame harsh and extreme environmental conditions — such as severe winds, heat, snow, volcanic eruptions, and droughts — and became stronger in the process. Through natural adaptation, they evolved into wildly potent Extremophyte™ plants, boasting superpowers and supercharged nutrients. With our innovative methods, we are able to harness their nutritional powers.

Bioactives have the power to transform skin on a profound level. All of our products contain bioactives from our wildly potent ingredients. And some are so rare to the industry, they’re found only in our skincare. Our Exclusive Bioactives are ethically sourced, unique natural ingredients that drive results. A bioactive is considered exclusive to Furtuna Skin by virtue of one of these qualities: its debut in skincare; its limited availability and our exclusive access to it; or its unparalleled Extremophyte™ potency that can’t be reproduced.

To test antioxidant levels for skincare products, we worked with a top lab associated with a prestigious Ivy League university. They evaluated the intracellular antioxidant potential of our plant complexes to determine their protective antioxidizing benefits that are specific to skin. This is a far superior method to food-based ORAC ratings, which have less relevance since antioxidants work differently on skin than on the digestive system.

We use two types of delivery systems, oil and water based, because some nutrients are oil soluble and others are water soluble and need to be formulated accordingly.

-Vitamins A, D, E, and K, for example, are oil soluble and can be delivered only in oil, so we use our extra virgin olive oil as the delivery system.

-Vitamins B and C, for example, are water soluble and can be delivered only in a water immersion, so we use hydroglycerin for the delivery system.

-To ensure that skin gets complete balanced nutrition, we developed an interlocking approach that reunites the oil and water components through science and/or skincare rituals.

Due to the natural, potent ingredients within our formulas, color variations from batch to batch might be experienced. Since we don't use artificial colors, the natural and organic plants used in our products vary in color, resulting in natural variations that we fully embrace.

We never test on animals. We value the health and well-being of our planet and all its living creatures. Our products and ingredients are certified cruelty-free by PETA. They have verified that Furtuna Skin and its sources do not conduct, commission, or pay for any testing on animals for ingredients, formulations, or finished products.

Since every person is different, we recommend speaking with your physician about using our products first.

Furtuna Skin is different from other clean beauty brands because:

1. We debut uncommon botanicals that have either rarely been used or never been used before, like Anchusa azurea. Others use commonplace ingredients you can find everywhere, like alfalfa.

2. We select wild-foraged botanicals that are also certified organic. Many brands use ingredients that are either wild foraged or organic but not both. If they use organic, the ingredients are cultivated and tend to be less potent than wild.

3. Our formulas are proprietary and can’t be replicated.

4. Our methods are uniquely innovative. We use a fast soundwave extraction process to protect the nutrient potency of our ingredients. Others tend to rely heavily on harsh chemical solvents or slow, outdated technology that can over-process and damage the ingredients.

5. We formulate with costly concentrations of bioactive nutrients to achieve the highest performance and produce transformative results. Other brands tend to use lower levels of bioactives as well as fillers.

6. We test for skin-specific antioxidant benefits. Others tend to rely solely on food-based ORAC antioxidant tests that are less relevant for skin.

Our skincare products are freshly made. We recommend using our products within six months after opening each new bottle or jar.

Furtuna Skin products do not contain any synthetic fragrances. Although we do not add any scent to our formulas, you will smell the delightful natural aroma of our botanicals. Unless specifically stated otherwise, all of our scents are gentle and mild so they won’t interfere with your perfumes or natural body scents.

Yes. Our current product offerings are vegan and do not contain animal or animal-derived ingredients. Any non-vegan products we may make in the future will be clearly labeled as cruelty free, but not vegan.

Yes. We source materials that are certified gluten-free and test our finished products for the presence of gluten.

No, they do not.

We never use harsh chemicals. We have a No Grazie List of ingredients that we leave out of products that includes the European Union’s list of 1,300-plus banned substances. We use ingredients that are natural and safe for skin, most of which come from our own organic farm in Sicily. We do not use synthetic fragrances because they contain harsh chemicals.

Our Soundbath™ Extraction Method allows us to protect the potency of the ingredients without harsh chemicals. The pioneering extraction process was first used by the pharmaceutical industry. It uses the energies of sound and low temperatures to extract the nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants from the botanicals. Our Soundbath™ Extraction Method prevents over-processing and eliminates the need for harsh solvents. Full nutrient potency is preserved, resulting in a more effective and concentrated product. Also, using the Soundbath™ Extraction Method eliminates much of the complexity associated with botanical ingredients because it captures more predictable levels of the bioactive ingredients.

Furtuna Skin is for both men and women, and we’re developing a few men’s skincare products with meticulous grooming in mind.

Longevità Naturale™ Preservative System is our proprietary natural blend of wild-foraged botanicals from the same plant community, such as poppy, chicory, and nettle. Thanks to the broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy of this plant combination, no additional preservatives are needed in most cases to pass the USP 51 Preservative Test against all five challenges. Because the eye area is critical to transformational results, we made a dual-use product that would benefit the eye area as well as the face. With a gentle, quick motion, start tapping upward from your chin, tap around your cheeks and in circles around your eyes, pausing to add light upward pressure just beneath the brow area, then continuing up to the forehead. Our Due Alberi Biphase Moisturizing Oil can take the place of a moisturizing cream or a pure oil because it contains potent nutrients that are both oil and water soluble.

The biphase formula has very little smell but if you breathe deep, you can pick up the delicate magnolia oil heart.

No, our Acqua Serena Micellar Essence removes impurities and excess oil from your skin gently, without rubbing or rinsing.

The light cleansing formula won’t completely remove makeup because it does not contain any aggressive makeup-dissolving agents that can irritate sensitive skin.

Our purifying Acqua Serena Micellar Essence is ideal for any skin type and especially good for dry skin because it is gentle, hydrating, and contains soothing botanical ingredients such as our exclusive organic olive leaf water and wild-foraged organic Anchusa azurea.

You can use Acqua Serena Micellar Essence for regular cleansing, morning and night. If you use makeup remover, use micellar water afterwards to remove residue.
